Welcome!

I’m Whitney Rogers, and I’m a licensed psychotherapist. I help women and mothers heal the roots of anxiety and find greater balance and ease in their lives.

You desperately want to do a good job as a mom, at work, in your relationship with your spouse, and with your friends and family, but somehow, it never feels like enough. You are someone who loves and treasures your children and your partner, but you’ve lost touch with what makes you happy outside these relationships. You’re your own worst critic, and no matter how hard you try, your best never feels good enough.

Your partner doesn’t seem to understand your pain, and this makes it even worse. You’ve given so much, but you’re feeling depleted and not sure how to recharge. You’re starting to not recognize yourself, and you’re acting in ways that don’t match your values and ideals. You’re more irritable, less patient, and having a harder and harder time enjoying those you love the most. When this happens, you’re critical of yourself, and this makes it even harder to show up the way you want to.

It’s uncomfortable to reach out for help. You’re someone who has a hard time asking for and accepting help from others. Independence is important to you, and you identify as someone capable of “handling it” on your own. But it’s clear now that you do need help, even if it’s hard to admit. Your family matters more to you than your comfort, and you’re looking for someone with whom you can trust to open up about what’s going on.

I help mothers who struggle to prioritize their own needs. My work supports women who love deeply, but who give this love to others without reserving much, if any, for themselves. In our work together, I will help you explore your personal needs, your relationship with boundaries, and your ability to offer yourself the compassion, care, and nurturing that you deserve. Through therapy, it is possible to develop a new capacity for self-care, feel more confident in meeting your needs, and establish new habits that truly nourish you.

Specializations

  • Parenting

You are doing a big thing. Raising children is a huge job, and yet so many women feel isolated, alone, overburdened, and under-supported. You might find more conflict in your marriage, new challenges navigating parents or in-laws, or certain friendships no longer working for you. Physical demands and changes can add additional strain. If you are a mom with your own trauma, all of these changes and challenges can be more taxing. You deserve care, support and space to heal.

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum

This is a sacred time of transformation. But the world doesn’t slow down even though our instincts and nature call for a protective and slow time. Pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period are both meaningful and taxing. If you have a trauma history, these experiences can be particularly triggering and can bring up intense feelings or memories that may have been hidden for a long time.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety is common and also treatable. No matter your current circumstances, if you are living with anxiety, you are likely experiencing intense feelings that you’ve tried to take care of on your own. Most people with anxiety have tried a variety of strategies to cope. If this sounds familiar, I’m so glad that you’ve found your way here. Your feelings matter, and finding someone who understands and knows how to help is often the beginning of change. Imagine feeling less afraid, fewer physical symptoms like racing heart or nervous sweating, and more confidence to do life. I’m here to help you work toward whatever vision or wish you have for yourself. You are worth it.
